Welcome to the West Geauga Recreation Council Website!

About the Rec Council
The West Geauga Recreation Council is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that provides recreational programs for people in Chesterland, Russell, and surrounding communities. Since its start in 1948, generations of area residents have enjoyed the instructional and recreational opportunities provided by the WGRC.
We primarily serve younger age groups where school programs are not yet available, but also have some programs for adults. Our goal is to provide a fun, safe, and fair place for children to learn sports and participate in recreational activities. More than 2,000 children and adults enroll in our programs and participate in our soccer tournament each year.
The WGRC also maintains a campsite, located adjacent to the West Geauga Middle School, with a heated, in-ground swimming pool, outdoor stage, basketball court, volleyball court, pavilions, playgrounds, and athletic fields. Many of our programs utilize this beautiful wooded facility.

We invite you to read about the programs available to your family, and to join in a long tradition of community involvement by joining the Rec Council. You can find out more on the following pages. |
